Nestled among picturesque grounds and harnessing the natural environment, Lake Windemere B-6 School is a proud and vibrant educational setting. Established in 2011 through the amalgamation of Direk Primary, Direk Junior Primary, and Salisbury North West Primary Schools, we continue a strong tradition of delivering high-quality education to our community.

Our B-6 site offers a comprehensive range of programs for children from birth to Year 6, supporting families and engaging the wider community. Key features of our school include:

  • Children’s Centre: Offering Occasional Care, a Preschool Program, a Preschool Speech and Language program, and a suite of community programs and services.
  • Special Options: Two Junior Primary and one Primary Area Special Options classes, catering for students with additional learning needs.
  • Specialist Subjects: Spanish, Performing Arts, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS), Digital Technologies, and Physical Education delivered by passionate, qualified teachers.
  • Evidence-Based Programs: Whole-school implementation of evidence-based literacy and mathematics programs, ensuring every student receives high-quality instruction and support.
  • Extra-Curricular Opportunities: Including the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program, Choir, and participation in Children’s University.

At Lake Windemere, we have a strong focus on inclusivity, Positive Education, and Trauma Informed practices, ensuring every child’s wellbeing and individual learning journey is valued and supported.

Lake Windemere prides itself on the picturesque, natural environment, which promotes The Nature of Learning.

The school has a range of new, purpose built buildings including contemporary classrooms and gym, and extensive refurbishment of existing facilities. The school is underpinned by the values of Teamwork, Respect, Fun and Learning with a whole school focus on Positive Education to develop skills to engage with powerful learning.
